If you have ever worked with wood you will understand the value of a chisel. They are incredibly useful tools. They are however not very portable. They are actually quite large and have a really sharp blade that you either need to place into some kind of sheath or use an oh so easy to loose blade cover with. Even with a blade cover sticking a chisel into your jeans pocket does not score highly on the list of intelligent list of things to do.

Two people I have a lot of respect for, Jason Tibbs of Bourbon Moth Woodworking and Jonathan Katz-Moses of KM Tools with the help of the genius Danish knife maker that is Mikkel Willumsen over many prototypes have developed the ultimate every day carry for me and many others. A folding chisel with a classic end bevel as well as a long side bevel. It can be a real functioning chisel one moment, a scraper the next, accurate cutting tool the next and helping you break down Amazon boxes the next. The quality of the blade locking mechanism both in terms of design and construction are what you need in a folding chisel. The selection of the blade and handle materials, Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel and G10 respectively, mean this thing can take some punishment but clean up in seconds.

This is one of the few tools I have ever owned where people have stopped me when I have been using it, asked me what it is, and then pulled thier phones out to order one.
